April 2nd - Day of Britney!

spray tan
shopping for britney concert attire starting at molly jayne's in downtown lee's summit and on to a boutique closer to home.
on to get my hair highlighted and cut and luckily heather also cuts candi's hair so it will be a girls hangout
lunch at the ingredient
home to change and get hot!
on to the P&L to pre-party and dinner
doors open at 6 - get settled, tshirt purchase etc.
pussycat dolls go on at 7
then circus!!

we aren't type a are we that we have this planned by the hour? whatever it's going to be the best day!!

interesting that it appears videos and cameras are allowed and then you can upload and post your experience to buzznet that also get picked up on her site. so much for "no cameras" we are hoping! cross fingers!

one of my coordinators saw her tour bus coming into town today! it's hot pink.

Fast Forward Five Days

I keep meaning to post but then it keeps turning out to be 10:30 and I should be in bed. But this one's good!

This is a drawing Anna did recently about camping. They learned all about camping that week at school - getting to nap in a tent in the room, making s'mores and more. I thought this drawing was pretty detailed compared to some of the others posted on the wall. Apparently there are special cars for camping. It looks more like a car with a rocket to me. Is this supposed to be a pop up camper? not sure.

Tonight at dinner Anna said something like "Mommy you are fabulous. You are funny and famous which means you are fabulous. Now say thank you." I'm not doing this quote justice but it was 4 hours ago and my brain isn't working very well by now.

The Kindergarten Round up meeting (am I the only one that pictures 5 year olds in cowboy hats being herded by someone swinging a lasso overhead everytime I hear this? seriously where does this name come from?) at the daycare last week consisted of me hearing a bunch of horror stories from parents who already have kids in the public school system. I'm still going to give it a shot - after all, it's free and I went to public school and I turned out ok, right? Ok, bad example. The daycare owner even said that they don't let kindergarteners checkout books with words from the library because they aren't supposed to be able to read. I don't know if this is true but I guess we'll find out.

Anyway - first I have to go on Thursday morning to prove I live near the appropriate elementary school and make an appointment to have her GLE (General Learning Exam) done. During that they take her away and test her on a bunch of stuff and then bring me back in and tell me how she scores. From what I can tell it doesn't really make a difference if they score high or low, everyone gets the same lessons in the kindergarten classroom. Did you know kindergarten isn't even required in the state of missouri?

Exercising does not make you feel better or have more energy or even make you lose any weight. These are my conclusions after working out for two weeks. I'm sticking with it to see if there is some sort of "hump" you have to power through - like smokers who are trying to quit. I also went back to the daily turkey sandwich for lunch starting today because that was the week I seemed to have lost 2 pounds. Would you believe I RAN 12 miles last week and didn't lose a pound!? wtf? ok well I did drink some rum and diets watching the bb games but still!

Hello December

This evening Anna has been singing Christmas caroles from her program at daycare. They do a Christmas play and she is an angel she tells me.

I've been having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit this year for some reason. I'm not motivated to buy presents, haven't gotten a single decoration out and haven't made my Christmas list. Even with our first snow on Sunday morning and having a snow ball fight with the kids and sledding down the hill in our mountain of one inch of snow, I haven't gotten excited yet.

But I was slightly inspired by the "pa rum puh pun pun" that Anna kept singing over and over and over and over while I was making dinner tonight. She also knows all the words to silent night and away in a manger. I was very impressed. I don't even know all the words to away in a manger.

Ali is doing a Daily December album. I had considered doing this and maybe I still will later after just documenting in the blog each day (although I missed yesterday but I could write about the first snow or Cyber Monday for my job - we sent about 750,000 emails) but with so many unfinished projects looking me in the face I decided not to start another.

Carter went "pee on potty" twice today and received a cute certificate for doing so.

NOW HERE'S something I'm excited about! Britney announced a tour this morning and tickets were already on sale. Thank god my friend Ramsey had emailed me about this - it was the first email I opened - scrambled to get Ticketmaster open and search for tickets - wait, what are premium tickets - how much are those - what are these packages - Candi, candi, I must call my friend Candi before I buy tickets. Whew - after all was settled I am happy with our Section 107 Row 21 seats. But imagine what we could have gotten if I had just received that email one hour earlier. Or turned on Good Morning America instead of the Today Show. Oh well. Now I just have to wait for April 2nd. Kind of like a Christmas present for myself I guess.

Britney's In Court - or is She?

With all the Britney hype lately I really haven't commented too much. The latest I hear is that she tested negative for drugs when she freaked out last week and therefore must really just be mentally messed up. I also hear that she was car shopping in her wedding dress this weekend so that pretty much confirms the messed up part. But wait, did she wear a wedding dress? I thought they got hitched in matching track suits.

No, I haven't blacked out but I did realize it's been about awhile since I did a post.

You know this one by now. It' my ringtone although I plan to upgrade to Toy Soldier when it's available.

At first this was my least favorite song. But after listening a few times I enjoy this track just for the lyrics. Now if you can get past the fact that most of the lyrics on the album are cheesy.

Leaked under the title "Your..." I like this one after the first 20 seconds.

Get Naked (I Got a Plan)
Keep laughing, it's worth a good laugh. The song doesn't live up to it's title. Sorry Best Week Ever, I know you were hoping to use this as your background music. Danja is featured on this track and the beat is pretty good but it's just boring to me.

Toy Soldier
Hands down the best track on the album. It should be her next release, right before the holidays. A hot video complete with sexy toy soldiers doing synchronized dancing is on my Christmas list.

Even though it's super cheesy I find myself ROCKING OUT to this song on my way in to work.

I think this is a stab at K-Fed, but sorry sweetie, I don't think this one is going to have him crying in his room. Maybe if you didn't show your cha cha to everyone and fail your drug test you could say you were moving on, but K-Fed has taken the high rode on this breakup.
